About Me
I am a Media Specialist in Florida and have been teaching for several years. I graduated from Mississippi College in 1997 and taught music. I have always had a love for literature and adding certification seemed like the natural thing to do. I continue to teach because I have a strong passion for educating children, especially the young ones! It's never too early to start.
I am married to a wonderful man who got me hooked on baseball, but specifically, the St. Louis Cardinals. Sometime I think I yell more than anyone. I have a talented daughter who is finishing up her degree in Elementary Education. We have two rescue cats who are both spoiled rotten. Each one has a very different personality. I guess you could say they are opposites in many ways. I have so much I could say about my family, but I will stop here since I don't want to risk boring you.
Extraordinary Annie is my first book, but there are more in the planning stages. As a Media Specialist sometimes I read books to students and we analyze them. Who are the main characters? What is the setting? Can you summarize the plot? I guess you get the picture. I began to see a need for antonyms to be retaught, in a different way, to older students. Books that focus on up-down, left-right, big-small just doesn't cut it on a second to third grade level. This is where my inspiration came from. I wanted a story that had much, much more to offer.
